For the seventh consecutive year, Priceville High School Fellowship of Christian Athletes members participated in a service learning project by assisting the Committee on Church Cooperation of Morgan County, Ala., in setting up its Toy Room for Christmas.
Students spent the day carrying donated boxes of toys from the upstairs storage area to the display area. Next, it was time to sort the toys by age and gender so that parents would be able to find just the right gifts for their children. Other students were able to serve in the clothing section, which involved sorting donated clothes and then hanging them in the appropriate section for the clients.
The CCC of Morgan County helps anyone in need throughout the year by providing a food pantry, a soup kitchen, clothing, and other assistance to any one in need. At Christmas, there is a special emphasis on helping parents provide presents for their children. According to information from the CCC Board of Directors, last year the CCC provided Christmas to more than 600 children. Based on this year’s increase in the organization’s other services, the board expects the number of children reached this Christmas to also rise.
Priceville High School FCA challenges its members to be in mission with Christ to live out the truth found in Matthew 25: 37-40 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you? 40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”
