In the Zone Camp Report

More than 52,000 coaches and athletes attended a total of 363 Fellowship of Christian Athletes Camps in 2012, according to FCA’s 2012 Camp Report, released in September.

The camps, which featured the theme “In The Zone” and highlighted the scripture of Ephesians 3:20 (“Now to Him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think – according to the power that works in you…”) allowed coaches and athletes to reach their potential through comprehensive athletic, spiritual and leadership training.

Whether campers attended Sports Camp, Leadership Camp, Coaches Camp, Power/Youth Sports Camp, Team Camp, Partnership Camp or International Camp, a common challenge to explore what it means to live a life of unstoppable faith through Jesus Christ was communicated.

2012 Quick Camp Statistics
Number of Camps 363
Attendance 52,010
First-Time Commitments to Christ 5,060
Recommitments to Christ 7,351
States with Camps 37
Countries with Camps 21

That challenge was widely accepted, as more than 5,000 campers made a commitment to Christ for the first time, and more than 7,300 people recommitted their lives to Christ at FCA Camps in 2012.

While the majority of the camps were held at venues throughout the United States, a record 48 FCA Camps were held outside the U.S. Those 48 international camps reached over 5,300 campers.

What about next summer?

The 2012 season marked the 56th year in which FCA Camps have been held. Planning for the 2013 season is underway, with the theme of “Relentless” based on Hebrews 10:39 (“But we are not those who draw back and are destroyed, but those who have faith and obtain life.”).
