Chang, who is active with FCA Korea, won gold first in women’s team archery, and again a few days later in the women’s individual event.

FCA East Asia celebrates in the recognition Chang gave to her heavenly Father while competing and atop the podium. FCA East Asia commented, “We are thankful that she won two gold medals, but even more thankful that she gave praise to Jesus!”

FCA in Korea has developed over the last several years with the focus on investing in the hearts of these high profile athletes and pointing to Jesus to keep them centered in the stress of competition. FCA Korea has served athletes and coaches effectively through the huddle and camp ministry.

Chang’s been involved in FCA through both the huddle and camp ministry. She attended FCA Korea’s first leadership camp at the South Korean Olympic Training Center two years ago. From there, she strengthened her faith and has been a constant attendee at weekly huddle meetings at the Olympic Training Center and became one of the center’s stable leaders.

The FCA East Asia Global Region’s vision is to cultivate growth and leadership within the sports sphere through vibrant relationship and discipleship of coaches and athletes. This phrase has resonated with the high profile athletes at the training center. Before the 26 athletes representing South Korea left for Rio, the center held a prayer and commissioning service, with FCA Huddle leaders encouraging athletes like Chang to give their best to God and glorify Him in their sport.

Chang’s Olympic accomplishment is icing on top of an already rich life, full with her relationship with Christ, athletic journey and communion with other believers. FCA has provided an avenue to build a bond of faith that propels her to the heights of God’s own gold standard.
