FCA Field Staff Profile


A Candidate For An FCA Field Staff Position Must Possess:

  1. A clear calling by God to candidate and spouse to the FCA ministry.

  2. Agreement with FCA's Statement of Faith. Click here to review FCA's Statement of Faith.

  3. A clear understanding of the ministry of FCA (i.e. Vision, Mission, Values, Ministries, Ministry Distinctives and Fundamentals).  Click here to view these.

  4. Willingness to equip and empower others to do the ministry, primarily serving as a facilitator, trainer and equipper of volunteers, not as a presenter.

  5. A heart to minister to athletes and coaches and willingness to make a commitment to FCA's sports ministry focus.

  6. Ability and willingness to directly raise funds from personal contacts in helping to build a solid financial base for the local FCA area.

  7. Ability and willingness to state his or her faith regarding a personal commitment to Jesus Christ, in a group or one-on-one setting, and clearly demonstrate a lifestyle that gives credence to that commitment.

  8. Evidence of personal and spiritual maturity, shown by:
    a. correctly balanced priorities,
    b. character traits given as requirements for the ministering, I Tim. 3 and Titus 1,
    c. a lifestyle of evangelism and disciple-making,
    d. leadership qualities that will cause others to follow, 
    e. ability to make wise decisions and command the respect of others.

  9. A viable relationship with the local church. A contact must be made by the interviewer with the candidate's pastor, priest,and/or elders.

  10. Harmony in all personal relationships as well as an ability to submit to authority and to work as a member of a team.

  11. Ministry gifts and desires that correspond to the FCA Job Description.

  12. Past involvement with athletics and/or FCA.

  13. Capable of relating to and communicating with the Board, staff, volunteers and community.

  14. A willingness to be a self-starter, work long hours (40+ hours), be available to minister 24 hours a day as needed, travel as the job requires, relocate if necessary, and to clearly consider the financial ramifications of working for FCA.
