Campus Rights

Student-athletes and FCA Huddles have the legal right to meet on-campus at middle schools, high schools, colleges, universities, and other places of education across the country where other student-led groups meet.  Where necessary, FCA has partnered with nonprofit law firms like the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty and Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) to educate about and defend these rights.

ADF has created a Students Rights Handbook that helps explain the legal rights that students and staff have on-campus, available here:  Student Rights Handbook. Note that this document does not provide legal advice and any questions should be directed to FCA’s legal counsel below.

If you have any questions or need legal assistance with a local huddle, please contact Doug Barkema, Executive Vice President and Legal Counsel, and Kelly Oeltjenbruns, Associate Counsel, at legal@fca.org.
