Sport for Christ Action South Africa (SCAS) and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)
College students and/or post graduates from any country who are interested in sports ministry and learning how to combine them to impact the world for Christ in a discipleship context. Applicants must be approved by program directors.
A four-week internship program where participants will be exposed to and serve in local sports ministry in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Interns will gain a global perspective of international sports ministry while developing character and leadership skills in this cross-cultural learning environment which combines classroom teaching with hands-on training. There is a large emphasis on discipleship throughout the internship.
June 1st - June 30th (Students will arrive in South Africa on May 31st and fly home on June 30th)

Impact has a three-fold purpose: (1) develop spiritual leaders, (2) teach and train how to do sports ministry, and (3) cultivate a heart for the nations.
By implementing discipleship and global sports ministry training in a cross-cultural outreach environment, participants will complete a level 1 and 2 certifications in sport ministry training. The program is very intensive, averaging about 30% in classroom training and 70% in outreach, discipleship, and personal growth experiences. Participants will experience the following:
- Hosting sports camp for 10-14 year-old children from diverse backgrounds
- Whole life coaching in an impoverished township using sports
- Relational development and discipleship through living and working together as a team
- Classroom structured training including the following modules: What is Ready Set Go, Sports Ministry Heart Values, In Sport Strategies including Sports Camps, Chaplaincy, and Coaches Ministry.
Cost for Impact South Africa: $1,800 (not included: airfare to/from USA)
Goal 1) Interns must commit to raise the full amount of $1,800, which covers travel within South Africa, housing, and food.
Goal 2) Every intern is required to raise adequate funds to cover roundtrip airfare to South Africa.
Goal 3) Optional; Interns that raise additional funds will have the option after attending Impact to receive an honorarium or contribute towards the support of another intern, ministry, and/or project they encounter during the Impact experience.
All funds will be submitted to FCA. Each Impact intern receives instructional resources that trains on how to raise funds.
