International Internship

Italy, Germany, Malta, and Romania

Summer 2017 (June 14 – August 2) 


Discover your potential to make sport your mission for Christ.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes offers an international sports ministry internship in Europe through collaboration with SRS - a member of the European Christian Sports Union. This 7-week experience is designed to send the next generation of sports leaders to impact the world for Jesus Christ. Impact Europe 2017 will offer college athletes and those who live in the world of sport a unique international sports ministry experience.

Must be a student athlete who:

  • has a sports background
  • has spent two years in college (preferred)
  • is willing to explore the possibility of serving in a sports ministry context
  • has prior FCA or other sports ministry experience (considered a plus)

Internship Description

Interns will gain a global perspective of international sports ministry while developing character and leadership skills in this cross-cultural learning environment. 

The internship begins and ends in northwestern Italy. Training incorporates classroom teaching as well as team and individual challenges. Experienced sports missionaries and teachers will instruct interns in a Biblical Basis for Sports Ministry, Cultural Sensitivity, Evangelism, Sports Ministry Models and Teambuilding.

Following the initial teambuilding and training, interns will travel to different countries throughout Europe to work within local communities and host sports camps and clinics. The internship ends with a time of debriefing and fellowship back in Italy.

Overview Itinerary (subject to change)

  • June 13 – Flight to Europe
  • June 14-24 – Italy, Orientation, Teambuilding and Training days
  • June 24–July 1 – Sports Camp
  • July 2-22 –  Practical Placements in Germany, Romania & Malta
  • July 23-29 - Training Days
  • July 29-August 2 Italy, Debrief, Fellowship and Preparation to Return 


Criteria

This internship is for college athletes and others who have a desire to experience international sports ministry and are open to serving in sports ministry in the future. Two years of college is preferred. Prior FCA or other sports ministry experience is a plus. 


Cost for Impact Europe:    $3,300


Timeline

Application deadline is May 1, 2017.  

Space is limited.  Late applicants will be considered pending available spots. Applicants are notified of acceptance beginning in March 2017.
