It’s a new era for FCA in New York City as Northeast Region VP of Field Ministry Sean McNamara, FCA President/CEO Les Steckel and FCA staff around the country team up to recruit volunteers and staff to serve in NYC’s five boroughs. The team is committed to identifying community leaders who will continue the work God is doing in this critical area and expand the ministry to serve more coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels.
“New York City is the ‘capital of the world,’ and we firmly believe the teammates are out there,” McNamara said. “We just have to communicate the opportunity and provide them with the tools and resources to have an impact in their community. We are specifically asking God to lead us to like-minded coaches, volunteers and staff to serve on a full-time basis.”
Steckel joined McNamara in October as they met with key leaders in the community.
“We can make a difference in New York City if we come together and maintain the mission and vision of FCA,” he said. “I’m confident that once God raises up his men and women to make a difference, we’re going to take a big bite out of the Big Apple.”
The opportunity is greater than ever to touch lives for Christ in New York City. This cannot be accomplished without your partnership. Would you please join us in praying for the following requests:
-For FCA to establish strong relationships with existing ministries and Bible-teaching churches in New York City.
-That alumni and friends with past FCA involvement would have a burden to see coaches and athletes impacted for Christ, and that they would take an active role in the work God is doing through FCA.
-For God to call staff who He has prepared with a strong athletic background, a history and appreciation of FCA and an excitement to live in and minister within one of the five boroughs of New York City.
Is God Calling You To Partner With NYC FCA?
If you know someone who could fill these roles or would like more information, visit nycfca.org, follow @nycfca on Twitter, email Sean McNamara smcnamara@fca.org, or call 917-426-6322.
That’s my old stomping ground. Glad to hear this.
